Barry Raynor, Jr. , a talented and passionate aspiring children's book author hailing from Prince George’s County, MD. With a heart full of creativity and a mind buzzing with imagination, Barry is on a mission to bring diverse and captivating stories to young readers around the world with his book series The Froot Troop.
Growing up Barry drew inspiration from his surroundings, and his own experiences and cultural heritage. Fueled by a desire to fill the literary landscape with representation, Barry weaves tales that celebrate the beauty of diversity and empower children from all backgrounds. Using something that all would love our children to eat, Fruit.
With a background in customer service, project management, and experience as a DBT Teacher in Washington, DC, Barry brings a unique perspective to his writing, infusing each story with authenticity and relatability. The Froot Troop often revolves around themes of identity, friendship, resilience, and the magic of discovery, resonating with young hearts and curious minds.
When Barry isn't busy crafting stories, they can be found drawing characters and coming up with new stories to tell and educating children on new fruits for them to discover.
